The California Community College System offers an Open Admission Policy

A message from the campus:

We are pleased that you have chosen to apply for admission to one of California's best community colleges.

If you are an international student, a citizen of another country visiting or planning to visit the United States and study on an F-1 Student Visa, please do NOT complete this online application. Go to http://www.deanza.edu/international/.

If you are a permanent resident, or in California on a non-student visa, make sure you complete the residency information completely on the application, including your resident alien number and the dates on your green card or your visa.  Incomplete information may result in your being charged non-resident fees or having to provide additional documentation.

If you are an undocumented immigrant student, you may qualify for in-state tuition at De Anza if you meet the AB540 requirements. NOTE: You do not NOT need a Social Security Number to apply for admission. Leave the SSN field blank when you apply. 

We are accepting applications for the following terms:

  • Spring 2013 
  • Summer 2013
  • Fall 2013

    NOTE: Graduating high school seniors should use the summer application for admission in order to take COUN 200: Orientation to College in summer.
    Apply and then follow these steps.

As you complete the application, have the following information available:

  • Your social security number** (if you will also be applying for Financial Aid).
  • Names and dates (mm/yy) of all high schools and colleges attended
  • Permanent Resident Card (if applicable)
  • A valid and unique e-mail address that you check frequently. Note: An e-mail address shared between De Anza applicants will prevent the creation of MyPortal accounts for those students.
  • **Note: You are not required to give your SSN. However, we encourage you to include it so that you may more easily apply for financial aid and reset your registration system password if you forget it.

If you are applying for financial aid AND are admitted to both Foothill College and De Anza College, please be sure to notify the Financial Aid Office which is your primary college where you will earn your degree/certificate and receive your aid.

It is important that you be as accurate and complete as you can when filling out the application. Mistakes or omissions may delay the processing of your application.

After your application is submitted, you will receive an e-mail confirmation from De Anza College with important information, including your De Anza College student ID and how to access the most current information about your enrollment status through myportal.fhda.edu.

This message will be sent to the e-mail address that you provide when you register with the CCCApply Web site.

Access to MyPortal will be delayed if you are identified as a nonresident on your application for admission.  Nonresident applications must be manually reviewed and accepted into the system. Allow 24 hours for processing.

How to Use the De Anza College Online Application
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the [Next] button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.

Once you have completed the application, click the [Submit] button located on the left column to submit the application.
