Taft College was established in 1922 and is located in the Western Kern County Community of Taft. The Community is in the heart of the Midway-Sunset oilfields. Although oil is the leading industry, the area also is rich in agricultural, light industry and recreation. The campus is close to beaches, mountains, and lakes. Shopping is abundant in near by Bakersfield. Taft College's mission is to prepare citizens who can effectively communicate, gather and use information, make responsible decisions, and adapt to the challenges of the 21st century. | |
