CAMPUS SUMMARY
Palomar College is a public, two-year community college and invites citizens of all ages, backgrounds, and interests to become a part of our "community". Our talented faculty and staff are committed to creating a learning environment that assists students in achieving their career and personal goals. Our main, 200-acre campus is in San Marcos, about 30 miles north of San Diego and within easy driving distance of the beach, mountains and desert. We serve a geographical area of approximately 2500 square miles, and currently enroll over 27,000 students. In addition to the rich academic curriculum, we sponsor cultural, athletic and personal growth experiences on campus and in the community. In addition to the main campus, we operate eight regional education centers.
UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Palomar College offers over 130 degree and certificate programs. (Our catalog can be found at www.palomar.edu/catalog/ and our schedule at www.palomar.edu/schedules.htm). You can take classes how and when you want. In addition to semester length classes, you can choose from "Fast Track" 8-week courses, late start and self-paced courses, TV courses, and a large offering of online courses. Though Palomar is the largest community college in San Diego County, we pride ourself in keeping most classes small and friendly. Palomar is recognized as one of three "flagship" community colleges in the nation.
