| CAMPUS SUMMARY |
Set in the scenic San Francisco Bay Area, Ohlone College is a well established school that has a lot to offer today’s student. Named to honor the Ohlone Indians, the current Ohlone College campus opened in September of 1974 and encompasses 534 acres in the foothills of Fremont, California. Ohlone’s main campus, in the heart of Silicon Valley, is conveniently located in Fremont off 680 on Mission Boulevard.
The Ohlone College Newark Center was established in 1991 in an effort to more effectively serve the Newark area. It is located nearly 12 miles from the Ohlone main campus at 35753 Cedar Boulevard, Newark, California, which is convenient to Interstate 880 and Thornton Avenue.

| UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS |
 |
Ohlone’s small classrooms and accessible professors create a welcoming atmosphere. The college curriculum provides a variety of classes, majors, degreed programs and certificate programs to choose from and it’s easy to transfer to four-year institutions. In addition, Ohlone offers study options such as online and fast track courses. Online courses enable students to learn about subjects from the comfort of home. Fast track class options include short-term courses designed for students who want to take college credit courses but don’t have the time to commit to a full-term course.
Ohlone is building for the future, with the completion of the state-of-the-art Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts in 1995. The center includes two television broadcast studios, a digital radio station, dance studio, amphitheatre, art gallery and two theatres. Currently, a new center for technology and business is under construction and will house cutting edge computer, electronics and engineering labs. Ohlone is committed to help students build a foundation in their chosen field before transferring to a university or finding a job. |
