| CAMPUS SUMMARY |
History:
Evergreen Valley College (EVC) is an established energetic institution located on a picturesque 175 acre site in the eastern foothills of San Jose.
The college opened in September, 1975, with an enrollment of 3,000 students. EVC began operation with two Clusters, Acacia and Roble. In January 1984, the Cedro classroom building opened to provide space for a Roble Center and student government offices. The Learning Resource Center, which opened in Fall 1979, houses the Library, Media Services, Counseling Services, Transfer/Career Center, Disabled Student Services, Testing Center, Student Health Services, and Financial Aid. In addition, the Learning Resource Center includes Montgomery Hall, a 250 seat multipurpose facility available for instruction and Community Service activities.
Mission: The mission of Evergreen Valley College is to prepare and empower students for success in a global multicultural society. The College, as its primary charge, provides continuous access to a wide range of comprehensive and flexible post-secondary academic and occupational programs that prepare Silicon Valley residents of all ages for balanced and productive lives and successful careers. To reach these educational goals, the College provides the appropriate support services to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse student population.
