Welcome to the MiraCosta College Online Application site. We hope you'll find our online application to be a convenient resource, and we thank you for choosing MiraCosta College as a destination for your higher education.
Please be aware that regulations require that an online application may only be submitted by the student. At the point of submission you will be affirming that the application data belongs only to you. Submitting an application for another person is not allowed.
We are currently accepting online applications for the Fall 2008 (08/25/2008-12/19/2008) semester. Fall applications will be processed beginning in late June. Fall applicants will receive materials via the mail once we begin processing.
Once your application has been processed you will need to retrieve your SURF ID and Password. Beginning in late June for fall, go to the surf.miracosta.edu website. You will be asked a series of questions which will allow you to obtain your ID and set up a password. Students who do not submit social security numbers will need to receive a substitute number from the Admissions & Records (A&R) office in order to obtain their ID online (sent by mail) - OR - you may come to A&R and by showing a picture identification, you may obtain your SURF ID number.
YOUR STUDENT ID WILL NOT BE MAILED. YOU MUST RETRIEVE YOUR OWN ID THROUGH OUR SURF SYSTEM OR IN PERSON.
The next step is determine whether or not you have an appointment to enroll. Check SURF under appointments. New students do not typically have appointments, but some special populations such as students who participate in Matriculation, will be given an earlier enrollment priority. For fall, most new students will be allowed to use SURF to enroll and pay fees beginning on July 21.
Some applicants may need to provide additional material to complete the application. Examples of these types of applicants include high school students and recent California residents. These applicants will be contacted by mail to provide any additional paperwork.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SELECTING A MAJOR
Once you start entering information on the application, you will be asked for your "Intended Major or Program of Study."
Students completing a 60-unit associate degree in University Studies will have completed the lower-division requirements to transfer, should they choose to do so.
Thank you for using our online application. |
