Greetings from the San Francisco Bay Area in California! We welcome you and hope you will take the time to get to know more about our great state and beautiful location as you consider opportunities to further your education.

 

The three colleges in our community college district, Contra Costa, Diablo Valley and Los Medanos, all offer international students a unique and challenging educational experience. We are proud of our commitment to global education and the success of the thousands of international students who have benefited from the excellence of our degree, certificate and transfer-to-university courses and programs.

 

We hope that you will take the time to become better acquainted with our colleges through the CCCApply service and encourage you to visit our college websites as you make the important decision of where you will begin your higher education career. Important instructions

  • Are you a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of U.S.? Click here to submit application to Contra Costa Community College District (CCCCD), which consists of Contra Costa College, Diablo Valley College and Los Medanos College.

Application Procedures

As an F-1 international student you are required to send additional documents to CCCCD for admissions purposes. Please read the information below so that you will understand the forms that will be sent to you requiring additional information.

  • Application Deadlines:
    • Fall semester (August to December)
      July 1 for out of US applicants
      July 15 for applicants already in the US

    • Spring semester (January to June)
      December 1 for all applicants
  • Summer Session (June to August) Available only for students who are currently in the United States.

Additional documents you will need to send to the college after you apply online.

  • Transcripts:
    • The official academic transcripts of your secondary education must be submitted if you are under the age of 18
    • The academic transcripts of your  secondary school is REQUIRED if you are attending an English medium institution and you wish to waive the English proficiency requirement
    • It is HIGHLY recommended that you submit transcripts of your secondary and post secondary even in cases when they are not required for admissions purposes.

 

  • English Proficiency:
    • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): A score of 500 (paper based) or 163 (computer based) or 61 (Internet based) or higher.
    • IELTS bandwidth of 5.0
    • If the medium of instruction in your secondary or postsecondary education was English you must submit transcripts to waive the English proficiency requirement.
    • Students transferring from countries where English is the dominant language do not need to submit TOEFL scores.
    • Students completing "O" Levels or higher in the British system educations do not need to submit a TOEFL score.

 

  • Financial/bank Statement (bank letter):
    • This letter verifies access to at least U.S. $17,434 indicating your ability to pay for one year’s education.

 

  • Sponsor Form:
    • This form indicates that the person who signs the form is willing and financially able to support you as an International Student for the duration of your studies at CCCCD.

 

  • Signed Minor Student Waiver Form:
    • This form indicates that you and your family understand that the college will not function as substitute parents or take responsibility for F-1 international students under the age of 18. This form will be e-mailed to you if you are under the age of 18 at the time the semester of admission begins.

How to Use the Contra Costa Community College District International Online Application
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the [Next] button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.

Once you have completed the application, click the [Submit] button located on the left column to submit the application.
