A message from the campus:
Important message about Registration for 2010 Summer

Applications for Summer 2010 which are entered after 6/4/10 may not be accepted due to classes being filled.  Please be sure to check the open class list ( updated periodically) or the live list on web advisor and make sure that the section you need is actually available.

Because of state budget cuts, Ohlone College has reduced summer 2010 class offerings by 50%.  The Paper Class Schedule and the online schedule will be available for viewing by the end of the first week of April 2010.   Currently enrolled continuing college students will begin registration on May 7.  New and former students will begin registration on June 1.  High school,  10-12 grade, student registration will start on June 14 and K-9 students may enroll as of June 21st, the first day of classes for the summer session.

Please be advised that given high student demand and reduced course offerings, it is highly likely that many, if not most, classes will be filled by our college and adult aged populations before K – 12 students are able to register.” The additional K – 12 Permission forms that are required in addition to the online application will be available on the A&R website by March 26. Please remember that high school personnel cannot authorize courses until the Class Schedule is available for review.

Tips for Application Submission – online and paper

RESIDENCY:  If you have not lived in California for the last two years or are not a U.S. citizen, you are required to show proper documentation to the Office of Admissions & Records located on the second floor, quad level of Building 7, main campus in Fremont and Room 1312 of the Student Services Center at the Newark Center campus.

If you do not have a Social Security Number or do not wish to disclose that number on this form, please DO NOT submit an online application.  Instead submit a PAPER application which is available online at:  http://www.ohlone.edu/org/admissions/forms/appforadmission.pdf. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please be sure to bring your immigration documentation when you visit Admissions & Records.

STUDENT TYPE:  You will need to identify your student type:  (First time, Returning, etc). If you have attended ANY other college, you are classified as a Transfer. If you are in a K-12 grade at the time you intend to be enrolled at Ohlone College, you are classified as SPECIAL or SP. (See special instructions at bottom of page**) Please check our website or Class Schedule for information regarding Orientation and/or Placement Testing. You may contact the Counseling Office at 510-659-6110 for academic counseling.

PROCESSING TIME:  At this time, online applications are downloaded every 1 - 3 business days. After you have submitted your application, you will immediately receive an e-mailed submission confirmation message welcoming you to the College if your application is complete. It will communicate relevant information for you to review prior to the next step in the process. If your application is incomplete, you will receive a different message via e-mail that will inform you of what is required to complete your application. If you submitted a paper application, processing times are often extended past 3 days as these must be entered manually.

STUDENT ID: This message will include your Student ID number and registration instructions as well as other “just in time” information. If you have not received an e-mail response after one week, please check the Spam filter on provided by your Internet Service Provider. Please note that Yahoo.com periodically considers Ohlone College e mail as spam. If you need to obtain your Student ID number, please contact Admissions and Records at (510) 659-6100 or admissions@ohlone.edu.

**SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR K-12 STUDENTS**

If you are a K-12 student you must reapply to Ohlone College each term that you plan to attend. If you have previously enrolled at Ohlone College and have a WebAdvisor username and password, you may simply “Update My Profile” information via WebAdvisor by logging in and clicking the link under the Registration section. Please be advised that K-12 students are also required to submit Permission Forms EVERY term. Please visit the Admissions & Records website to down load a copy of the application and required permissions forms:  http://www.ohlone.edu/org/admissions/k12packet.html

Your application will NOT be completed until the additional Permission Forms have been received. Students in grades 10 to 12 may submit an online application. Be advised that students in grades 10 – 12 may only register for courses that are CSU and UC transferable. You can identify these by viewing the course listings in the paper Class Schedule.
